Geneva Bay/Back Bay
Geneva and Back Bay are located on the east coast with a view of the four
islets in the conservation zone of the Marine Park and St. Barths further on
the horizon. Brown Pelicans often in pairs are often seen soaring overhead. The
vegetation is succulent evergreen shrub land and drought-deciduous and mixed
evergreen-deciduous thorn woodlands.
The endangered Melocatus or pope cactus is a prominent resident in this area. Other features include magnificent geological formations, the ‘natural’ pool and historical boulders thought to have been used as landmarks for navigation or as aids in transporting goods from the coast to boats below.
